8. Children's phones and tablets

At home, Warda filters every device that asks it. Away from your Wi-Fi, or with its own mobile data, a phone asks another DNS and Warda sees nothing: the hours and the protections of Warda then do not apply. The tools of the phone itself apply everywhere; use both.

Android phone or tablet#

1. On your own phone, install Google Family Link and supervise the Google account of your child.
2. In Family Link, set the daily limit and the downtime (the night), approve the applications installed, and turn on the content filters of Google Play and Chrome.
3. On the child's phone, open Settings → Network & internet → Private DNS (on some brands: Connections → More connection settings): choose Off or Automatic. A named provider (for example dns.google) goes around Warda at home; check it from time to time.

iPhone or iPad#

1. Add your child to your Family Sharing and turn on Ask to Buy: no application, VPN included, is installed without you.
2. In Settings → Screen Time → the name of your child, set a Screen Time passcode, the Downtime, the App Limits and the Content & Privacy Restrictions.
3. In Content & Privacy Restrictions, under the changes allowed, choose Don't Allow for the passcode, the account and the Cellular Data changes.
4. iCloud Private Relay is turned off by Warda for the children's devices at home: Safari then asks Warda.

Other devices#

A tablet without SIM card is protected at home like a phone; outside, only its own settings apply. Game consoles and computers have their own parental controls (Xbox Family, PlayStation Family, Nintendo Switch Parental Controls, Microsoft Family Safety): set them too. The protection of the devices away from home by Warda itself will come with its online service.

Add http://warda/ask to the home screen of your child's phone: that is where they ask for more time at home.
